warm weather hunting pants/shorts
« on: April 29, 2011, 02:28:16 PM »
I've been shopping for some early season hunting pants.  During my hiking/backpacking trips I wear pants that have zip off legs to convert to shorts.  I have not been able to find any camo pants with this same feature.  It would be nice to have shorts during the hike in, then zip up for the hunt.  They would also need to be quiet.

any suggestions?

Havent seen any in zips in camo.

As far as warm weather hunting pants, I like my 5.11's. real light, breath well, lots of pockets.

I prefer a nice cotton banana hammock and tube top to hunt in when the weather turns hot.

Cotton kills.  I mean, seriously, cotton kills.  Like I might die if I see PolarBear wearing that.   :chuckle:

It's like watching a couple of polar bear cubs fighting over a piece of string.   :chuckle:

I used something like the Asat ridge fire mentioned while bowhunting in OR when it was hot as hell in the day and cold in the morening. I got the mesh leafy hoodie and mesh leafy pants. I wore green shorts, and Gray fleece swears under them. I just layed up so that as the day warmed up i was able to peel off a layer to keep from sweating. I really liked how it kept the mosquitos and hornets off me. Mine were just some cheep ones from walmart.  :twocents:

don't know your budget, but for hiking and warm weather, the Kuiu Attack pant sounds good.
